Hemgift eller offerings är vårt sätt att beskriva hur kvinnor ytterst sällan får vara något endast i egenskap av sig själv. En flicka eller kvinna behöver alltid tillföra något till ett sammanhang för att få vara med. Kvinnliga chefer tillför en mjukare ledningsstil. Det vore bra om du kom med för vi har så få kvinnor. Du kan väl sitta mellan pojkarna så blir det mindre bråk. Det tillför ju lite kvinnlig fägring. Så här skriver vi i kapitlet:

An interesting example is the explosion of young female bloggers in the mid 2010’s. This phenomenon may be seen as quite harmless but instead it attracted a lot of attention, from the public and from media. In most cases this was negative attention, implying that these young women were not contributing to society. Instead, the bloggers are accused of dispersing meaningless messages to their readers and in some cases even strengthening sexist structures (Soxbo, 2010). These young women are thus expected to contribute to society while their male peers to a higher extent can use their youth to experiment and play, with no requirement for actual contribution or productivity. 

Vi behöver alltså bidra med något, vi måste ha med oss en hemgift annars blir det ingen affär.
